Stereo 8 String Electric Solidbody
-3 Bass & 5 Guitar with separate outputs-
My stereo 8 string guitars are made so you can be a bassist and guitarist at the same time. Each side has a separate circuit with separate outputs, meant to be plugged into thier corresponding amp. It is best to split the two frequency ranges so that the bass does not take up the full range of the speaker and muddy things up. (or vise-versa) Bassist can finally fire the guitar player and let someone else say something for once. Or, guitar players can finally stop worring about where to find a bassist, or if they will even show up today....
My 8 strings are 28.5" (bass scale) and 25.4" guitar scale with a 2 3/16" nut width. I experimented with many different combinations of scales and widths, and found these to be the most comfortable to play for extended periods of time, with the best possible tone, and excellent intonation. I also moved the whole neck closer in to the body to prevent cramping of the wrist on the lower frets. So, by moving everything closer, I found it easier to manage the entire fretboard, with no discernable loss of low end definition. I shortened the fretboard to 19 frets. I found that while holding down the bass part I never wanted to go above the 15th fret or so anyway, and the improved playability more than made up for the "no mans land" frets. I designed my stereo 8 string guitars from my own experience playing and performing with the instrument.
