It's astonishing that every-time I play it the sound is totally new. The tone of this thing changes from fret to fret string to string and moment to moment. It sounds alive. The fanned fret neck and the construction of this bass are incredibly artful. I feel fortunate to own it. Of all the "classic" basses I have I feel like this is more unique and timeless. I'm compelled to be innovative! You are a great guitar maker and a great friend. Keep it up!

I want to talk to you about a man....Mr. Wes Lambe. Verily, unto me, he made an AWESOME Rock and or Roll electric tenor guitar. The Workmanship, the honeyed-perfect-pitch tones, the stunning good looks of this instrument are renowned throughout this good land and even Canada! My faithful band of fellow troubadours "Squirrel Nut Zippers" have all commented lustily on the total coolness of my new axe. I can finally hear my parts after years of criss-crossing the nation playing our well loved gold record hit songs! I am a big-boy now and couldn't be happier!! Contact this upstanding luthier for all of you "build me something that doesn't exist yet" needs. Thank you for your time.

Throughout my life I've owned and played all of the classics...Gibson, fender etc. but each of those guitars are cursed by the musicians who made them famous (Hendrix and the strat, Jimmy page and the les paul). It is important, to me, that music evolve in every possible facet. When Wes and I embarked on this new model, he took to heart what I was trying to do, to create something fresh that would embody the essence of the future and inspire new musical ideas. Needless to say he far exceeded my expectations. Thanks Wes! -Hugh Swaso
Wes has carved out a richly-deserved reputation as one of the very best modern luthiers. He is perhaps most renowned for his unique 8-string creations, but he can do anything with his formidable talents. I'm an old-school 6-string guy, and I was looking for a good way of using a nearly-discarded 000-size body that still had some life in it. The instrument found a new purpose when he made it into a fine baritone guitar. He is always open to new ideas and always rises to the challenge of restoring and rebirthing older instruments with the same commitment to great craftsmanship so apparent in his cutting edge modern designs. -Danny Gotham
When I called Wes he addressed all my questions with expertise from both a guitar builder and player's point of view. This put us immediately on the same page. Even though Wes is thousands of miles away from where I live, I had no worries hiring him and trusting him to build my 8 string. Wes is a true professional and delivers a worldclass guitar at a working man's price. Every email and phone call was answered. When I received the 8 String I was thrilled with the result. I am still amazed with the workmanship, detail, beauty, sound and comfort of the instrument. I strongly encourage anyone looking into getting a Wes Lambe guitar to go for it. By the way, the jump from 6 to 8 strings is not as big as you may think!

After many hours of practice and several gigs with my Semi-hollow 8-string, I have to say that it amazes me more each day. I immediately forgot how wide the neck is because it feels so comfortable in my hands. The tone of this guitar is very rich and versatile. Everytime someone sees it for the first time they tell me how awesome it sounds and looks. This guitar is definitely well built and built to last. Thanks Wes!

I really love it! The neck feels great. It's really easy to play and it sounds fantastic, It didn't take long for me to get the sound I was looking for- the neck pickup, a little tweak of the tone pot and the controls flat on my Acoustic Image amp. The high "a" sounds great and it's really not tight feeling at all so you really nailed it as far as the scale length. The fanning of the frets is a non-issue as far as playability. It's really easy. The workmanship and the finish are impeccable. Tonight I have a duo gig tonight with a sax player. I usually use my classical 8-string but tonight I'll be taking both. Finally, it was a pleasure dealing with you. You do what you say you're going to do and when you say you're going to do it, I would recommend your work to anyone.

I'm completely satisfied with my Wes Lambe 8 string. With a beautiful tone, flawless craftsmanship, and incredible action, this is truly an 'instrument'. My inspiration for finger style guitar comes from Hawaiian slack key and open tunings; and I have had no trouble adjusting this type of playing to the 8.I wholeheartedly recommend Wes's instruments.

With that acoustic 8-string I`m able to search new fields of acoustic playing, it is from an outstanding quality and I like this instrument.

I, like most people, got interested in the capabilities of the 8 String guitar when I first saw Charlie Hunter burst onto the scene years ago. Being left handed though, it was a problem, both of logistics and price. I called Wes, and when he told me that he makes LEFTIES, at a price that is lower than a Les Paul straight off the rack, I was in a euphoric daze!!! When I yanked it out of the case for the first time, I was in love. The tone is excellent, the intonation amazing, the neck sleek and flat radiused!!! This is the ultimate instrument for those artists who like to veer off on musical tangents and not have to yell out changes and coordinate with a bassist/guitarist. You can take risks and actually pull it off every time. I cannot wait for my next Wes Lambe guitar. His level of cratfsmanship, design, consistency, punctuality and above all human demeanor should make him enviable to all other businessmen and guitar builders in specific."As I have said before, you are the freaking man!!! Much Love and Respect.
