8 String Stereo- 3 BASS/5 GUITAR

My stereo 8 string guitars are made so you can be a bassist and guitarist at the same time. Each side has a separate circuit with separate outputs. It is best to split the two frequency ranges so that the bass does not take up the full range of the speaker and muddy things up.
My 8 strings are 29" (bass scale) and 25" guitar scale with a 2 3/16" nut width. I experimented with many different combinations of scales  and widths, and found these to be the most comfortable to play for extended periods of time, with the best possible tone, and excellent intonation. I designed my stereo 8 string guitars from my own experience playing and performing with the instrument. Call or email for more info.

8S - Solidbody

The 8S solidbody was designed, and is built to be the workingman's/roadworthy 8 string, but it is just as at home with the finest boutique instruments. The bass tones are strong and punchy and can be toned back to be just a thumping thud of ground shaking boom. The crisp and shimmering guitar tones can be colored by the pickup and wood selection (call or email for details) to suit your personal style.

8SHC - Semi-hollow carved top

8SHC has all the rich warm tones you expect from a semi-hollow. It has a strong acoustic resonance that shines through even when plugged in, while maintaining the feedback resistance of a solid body guitar. The bass is full and rich, with a thunderous and punchy boom. The guitar side has a harmonic richness that is well suited to driving distortion or warm jazzy tones. The broad tonal pallet makes this model very versatile.

8GT - Semi-Hollow

8 String Mono Guitars

I have three different options for 8 string Mono instruments. One is 29"-25". This one is best for a broad range of tunings. You can go down to a low D (below bass low string E) and up to about a high "g" (above guitar high "e").
For A-a scale lengths.  One is 25.7”- 22.87”. This one is the shorter version and would be the 8 string equivalent of a Gibson tonality and feel because of the relatively shorter scale length. This one is just a little bit longer than a “normal” strat on the low end, so a .080” is probably the best option for the low A, .075 will work but will feel a little loose.. The high a could be a .010” on this one no problem. It will be a little tight feeling and if you do a lot of bends a .009” would be better.  The other 8 Mono that I make has a 26.75”-23.5” scale length set.   This one would be more like the Fender 8 string equivalent, because of its longer scale length set you get more tension and more of a Fenderish tonal palette.   A .075” on the low A will be fantastic on this scale, you might be able to get a .010” up to A but it will probably not tolerate bends.  A .009” will work well, a .008” is probably the ideal on this.  Call or email for more info.

8 String Acoustics:

8 String acoustic guitar

The 8 string acoustic is force to be reckoned with. No longer will you be limited to a standard acoustic guitars tonal range. Crisp piano-like lows and elegant bell-like highs will open your mind to new musical possibilities. Available with either a stereo (bass/guitar) dual output system, or a mono pickup system. Depending on the tuning,  Fanned-Frets are recommended for these instruments, but straight frets are also an option. This instrument is built around my Jumbo-000 body style to make the most out of the extended ranges tonal palette.  (Other body style options are available)  Call or email anytime for more info.
